Singing on the Battlefield

By now, many of you are aware that Lydia's MRI revealed worst case scenario. And almost a week later, I'm still in shock. God's been feeling very distant to me over the few last days. My anger built up to the point where I finally cried out to Him in the shower, asking if He even gave a shit about me or my precious baby for that matter. A few moments passed and my crying controlled, the word Battlefield crossed my mind. I thought it was kinda weird. Battlefield . . . Battlefield . . . I couldn't place why it sounded familiar to me. So I googled it and this popped up:

When I'm in over my head.

When I'm caught up and afraid,
And my strength is failing
In the presence of my foes
You anoint my head with oil,
'Til my cup's overflowing
You make me sing on the battlefield
You make me dance through these tears
You grace my heart to believe again
You make me sing on the battlefield
When I'm in over my head.
When I'm caught up and afraid,
And my strength is failing
In the presence of my foes
You anoint my head with oil,
'Til my cup's overflowing
You make me sing on the battlefield
You make me dance through these tears
You grace my heart to believe again
You make me sing on the battlefield
You make me...
You make me sing on the battlefield
You make me dance through these tears
You grace my heart to believe again
You make me sing on the battlefield
Arise! Shine! Arise! Shine!
For the glory of the Lord is risen on you
Arise! Shine! Arise! Shine!
For the glory of the Lord is risen on you
Arise! Shine! Arise! Shine!
For the glory of the Lord is risen on you
Arise! Shine! Arise! Shine!
For the glory of the Lord is risen on you
And I will sing on the battlefield
And I will dance through these tears
You grace my heart to believe again
And I will sing on the battlefield
Yeah
And I will sing on the battlefield
And I will dance through these tears
You grace my heart to believe again
And I will sing on the battlefield
Leaning, Leaning
Safe and secure from all alarm
Leaning, Leaning
Leaning on the everlasting arms
Leaning, Leaning
Safe and secure from all alarm
Leaning, Leaning
Leaning on the everlasting arms
Leaning, Leaning
Safe and secure from all alarm
Leaning, Leaning
Leaning on the everlasting arms
I'm leaning on my rock and my defender

I still don't feel like my faith has had this magical rebirth yet, but I do know God hears me. And this song is my battlecry.

  1. The Lord is near- he has not forsaken any of you. He can handle your honest cries - give it all to him.
